Basaltina® stone is born from earth and water—and it is to water that we dedicate special attention. We have implemented an advanced rainwater collection and recycling system that significantly reduces drinking water consumption. The water used in cutting and processing is constantly monitored, settled, and reintroduced into the production cycle, contributing to a virtuous system that minimizes waste.
Our goal for 2025 is to increase wastewater recovery by 10%, moving closer to a “Water Zero” model.

To reduce our carbon footprint, we are investing in low-impact technologies and more efficient production systems. In collaboration with the Municipality of Bagnoregio, we are contributing to the creation of a Renewable Energy Community (CER), an innovative project that promotes the self-production and sharing of clean energy.
By 2027, we aim to achieve full certification of our carbon footprint and further improve energy efficiency.

Sustainability is not only about the environment but also about people. For this reason, Basaltina S.r.l. invests in employee training and environmental awareness. We believe that change begins with knowledge and awareness, and we are committed to building a corporate culture that promotes sustainable choices in every area.
By 2028, we plan to activate dedicated training programs to spread a culture of sustainability both within and outside the company.

At Basaltina S.r.l., nothing goes to waste.
Processing residues are collected and reused to restore depleted extraction areas, reducing the need for external materials. The sludge generated during production is treated according to strict environmental standards and used in rehabilitation projects.
Our production approach is based on a zero-kilometer model, limiting transportation and reducing emissions.
This allows us to give new life to waste materials, transforming them into resources for the territory.

For Basaltina S.r.l.,
the quarry is not only a production site but a space to preserve and enhance. At the end of the production cycle, decommissioned areas are transformed into green spaces through restoration and environmental rehabilitation projects.
Our “Extraction Park” project aims to convert a decommissioned quarry into a multifunctional space dedicated to cultural events and nature trails, creating a new meeting point between industry and nature.

Our quarry stands in an area of great natural and historical richness. For this reason, we manage extraction activities with deep respect for the soil and landscape. After each excavation phase, we work to restore the natural profile of the terrain, encouraging the regrowth of native vegetation.
Through collaboration with local authorities and environmental specialists, we promote initiatives aimed at preserving biodiversity and protecting territorial resources for future generations.
